Cassandra and Katie are best friends, but also twins.

Cassandra O’Bryan, 22, a senior at the University of Rhode Island likes to do almost everything with her best friend who just so happens to be her identical twin sister.

Katie O’Bryan, 22 is her identical twin sister. She is also a senior at the University of Rhode Island.

Cassandra and Katie grew up in Middletown, RI, and attended Middletown High School. They decided to attend URI in order to stay close to home and stay close to each other.

Before attending URI Cassandra went to the Community College of Rhode Island and then transferred to the university.

Cassandra said that having a twin is the best thing she didn’t ask for. A lot of twins have a more competitive relationship and that is not the type of relationship they have. They are best friends and each other’s support systems. She says that all they want is what’s best for each other.

Katie is the number one person that she relies on. If something were to happen Cassandra says she would not even think to call her parents first she would go straight to her sister. “There isn't a stand out moment in time where Katie helped me. She helps with my moral compass and I know she would never give unhelpful advice or steer me the wrong way in life,” says Cassandra.

Cassandra says that they are so close, if you ask one of them what something reminds them of the other will say what they were thinking.

Cassandra and Katie both enjoy walking on the beach and shopping. They are both in sororities. Even though they are in different sororities this doesn’t stop them from having the same friend group.

Cassandra and Katie are a mirror image of each other, they talk the same, dress the same and share the same mannerisms but this does not mean they want the same things in the long run. “We are basically the same person with different dreams” says Cassandra.

Cassandra is a journalism major who hopes to be a travel writer like her inspiration Anthony Bourdain. Bourdain is a chef, author and traveler. He wrote the book Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Uderbelly, and he also hosted two shows on the travel channel called No Reservations and The Layover. Seeing how brave Bourdain is while traveling the world made him her inspiration.

Katie is a finance major, a finance major can provide the knowledge to go into entry level positions in banking, corporate finance and investments. She hopes to be a Financial Analyst and also hopes to end up living in California.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover”, Even though Cassandra and Katie look the same they have different dreams and aspirations in front of them.
